Islam is the culminating revelation of the trinity of Abrahamic religions: Judaism, Christianity, & Islam.

Followers of Islam number in the billions and the religious movement has been identified as “the world's fastest growing religion.”

The Sublime Qur'an, the holy scripture recited to Prophet Muhammed, states:

“God does not like aggressors” (2:190) and “There shall be no compulsion in [acceptance of] the religion.” (2:256)

Rather, “…the goal of life is union with the Beloved, or God, through total loving surrender, which is the true meaning of the word ‘Islam.’” — Business & Spirituality p. 179

The word Islam means surrender — and the tradition’s genius is to make of surrender not a defeat but a love affair. Five times a day, across every longitude on Earth, the call to prayer draws millions out of commerce and distraction and back to the Real. There may be no other practice on our planet that so faithfully rehearses the essential spiritual act: stopping, turning, and remembering God.

The Quran’s own words dissolve the walls that later centuries built:

“The Universe is One, and this is the true doctrine of monotheism. ‘…our God and your God is one…’, saith the Quran (29:46).” — Justin S. Grant, MA, Business & Spirituality p. 145

This is monotheism at its full height — not a tribal claim, but a universal one. The One the Muslim bows toward is the One every tradition on this site addresses by its own beloved names.

It was the Sufis, Islam’s mystics, who sang this most daringly. Rumi — still among the most beloved poets in the modern West — traced the soul’s ascent through every kingdom of Nature: “I died as mineral and became a plant, I died as plant and rose to animal, I died as animal and I was Man. Why should I fear? When was I less by dying?” In the Sufi vision, all existence is a procession returning to the Beloved, and every loss along the way is a promotion.

For the seeker of any background, Islam at full depth offers what it has always offered: the discovery that total loving surrender is not the end of freedom but its beginning.
